This Week’s Service

Men’s Breakfast – Join us tomorrow morning
7:00 AM | Second Wednesday of the Month | Fellowship Hall.
Food. Faith. Fellowship. A Place to Be Real.
Our Men’s Breakfast is a monthly time to enjoy good food, explore God’s Word, and talk honestly about the things that matter—our hopes, our struggles, our faith. Just come as you are, and pull up a chair.
We meet at 7:00 AM on the second Wednesday of each month in the Fellowship Hall. All men are welcome—whether you’re a longtime member or just getting to know the church. Come hungry. Leave encouraged!

Presbyterian Women
Tomorrow is the kickoff for the morning and afternoon PW Circles. Join us at 10 am in the Fellowship Hall August 13. Refreshments will be served and books are $15. Come join us as we begin a new year!

Chancel Choir Resumes
Chancel Choir has resumed and is open to college age and up. They meet in the choir room on Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm. There are no auditions or requirements, only a love for singing and a willingness to commit to rehearsing and leading in worship. For more information, contact John Hutchinson, Director of Music & Organist at [email protected] or by calling the church office at 251-342-1550. John is looking forward to welcoming you!

Holy Grounds
Come warm your hands and heart at Holy Grounds—our new fellowship time between Sunday School and Worship, every Sunday from 10:00–10:30 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Enjoy coffee, pastries, and good company in a space where conversation becomes communion and welcome is always on the menu.

Teachers Needed
School is starting and so are our Sunday School classes. Our younger children need your nurturing each Sunday. Please sign up to teach the children, PreK to 5th grade. Or sign up to help with Youth Sunday School this Fall as they explore the bible, do mission projects, and have fellowship fun time. We ask that you take a month or if you can be a substitute, that will be great. Training will be after worship, Sunday, Aug. 17 with a light lunch. Susan Tomlinson, [email protected]

New church software
All of you should have gotten an invitation to join Realm via an email. This will enable you to look at your profile, change your own address, add a picture and look at your giving statement. Please accept this invitation.
New Giving Options: Spring Hill Presbyterian Church will be switching giving providers in the coming weeks! We are excited to announce we are switching from Stripe to Realm eGiving to make giving simpler and more convenient for you. Be on the lookout for an email about our new giving options.

Kirkin’ o’ the Tartans Worship (date change)
We invite you to join us for Worship on Sunday, September 28 for our Kirkin’ o’ the Tartans Worship Service. If you’re not familiar with this ceremony, it dates back to our roots in the early Presbyterian Church in Scotland, when families or clans would bring their family symbol or tartan to the Kirk (the Scottish name for church) for a blessing or to rededicate their clan to the God’s service. In recognition of that heritage, our congregation practices this ceremony in knowledge that God has gathered different families, ethnicities, and nations into one family, the Church of Jesus Christ. If you have clothing that represents your family tartan, you are invited to wear it to worship that Sunday. If you would like to carry one of the tartan banners, please contact our church secretary, Marcia Wear, so that we can have an idea of who will be participating.

A Two-Week Sunday Morning Conversation | August 10 & 17 | 9:00am | Fellowship Hall
Led by Rev. Brandon Miles
What is the Church?
What has it meant in our lives?
And what could it become for our community today?
This August, join Rev. Brandon Miles for a two-week Sunday morning class exploring what it means to be the Church in a world where old assumptions are fading and new questions are rising. Drawing on his recent study with Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and insights from his journey to the Netherlands, where he met with pastors, theologians, and mission leaders. Brandon will invite us to reflect on:
- How we’ve traditionally understood the role of the Church in our lives
- How we experience Church today in a more complex and shifting culture
- How we might redefine and reimagine Church as a sacred, welcoming, and Spirit-led presence for the future
This will be a time of honest reflection, shared stories, and hopeful imagination as we explore where God might be leading us.
in the conversation. Let’s listen for what the Spirit is saying to the Church — and what that might mean for us at Spring Hill.
