Young Adult Bible Study

Alphabet Generations: Generations X, Y, Z, and More

We will meet each Sunday night from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. in the Bullard Building for a time of growing together and growing in our awareness of God’s presence in our lives. Parents are welcome to bring their children with them. Older children are invited to participate in our wonderful children’s choirs which meet at the same time. After the Bible study you’re invited to stay for dinner and a time of fellowship. Whether you are a member or visitor or friend, all are welcome as we gather together to grow together.

Open Studio: Painting Pals

Here at SHPC we are blessed with a large craft studio and an abundance of supplies for creative activities. On Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. until 1:00 pm, our ‘Artists in Residence” hold the studio open for painters and crafters. There is no class with regular instruction, but encouragement, supplies and great creative spirit are always available to share. Bring what you’re working on and enjoy the company of other creative ‘makers’.

Writing and Spirituality Group

This group of dedicated writers has met for several years and has produced many stories, commentaries and poems. The nurture of the spiritual through this creative path is hugely important to the individuals who participate. Individuals of all disciplines and interest levels are welcome. Leadership is provided by church members who are published writers, professors and enthusiasts. No previous experience is required to enjoy this group.

Any of these groups welcome new members all year long. For information, call the church office.

Prism United Support Groups

The Prism Preteens (10-13) support group for LGBTQ youth meets every first and third Thursday of the month from 6-7:30. Our curriculum takes preteens on a guided exploration of virtues necessary for healthy character development as they progress into adolescence. Participants have an opportunity to earn badges for each virtue they encounter in the program.

The Prism Families support group meets once a month at the same time as Prism Preteens. Prism Families provides a judgment-free space where parents and other family members of LGBTQ youth can find peer support, friendship, and a better understanding of what their LGBTQ loved one is going through. Gatherings are led by trained facilitators.

All Participant information is kept completely confidential. Prism offers groups for youth aged 14-18 at other Mobile and Fairhope locations. For more information visit: https://prismunited.org
