Children’s Education

In Jesus’ words we find our reason and purpose for bringing ministry to children and their families. Children’s ministry is about opening the door to the meaning of a life guided by faith and formed within the Christian community. The pastors and staff of each aspect of our children’s ministry are committed to providing your children with opportunities that are fun, child-oriented, and biblical.

In both our lower and upper elementary classes, we use the Growing in Grace and Gratitude curriculum to learn more about God’s Word and God’s love for us. For families who are interested in discussing faith and what they learn at church at home, there is an eBook! Intended for families to use at home, this downloadable e-book shares the same colorful illustrations and Bible stories used in weekly sessions. It also includes audio recordings of the stories and Grace Sightings, so you can listen in your car!

Throughout the year we have special educational events like “Bible 101 for Children and Families,” a Festival of Faith mission project, and “Worship 101 for Children and Families.” We also have community-focused fellowship events including Halloween’s Trunk-or-Treat and an Easter Egg Hunt. Check the E-News (Sign up here) and Sunday Bulletin announcements (at the left) for these special events.

Infant and Toddler Nursery

Sunday mornings starting at 8:45 in the Bullard Building, Rooms 101 & 102

Facts about our Nursery Ministry

If you bring a toddler or infant to our nursery, please bring a diaper bag. Our infants do not mingle with our toddlers, even if they are siblings, so please bring separate bags for each. We offer snacks, so if you have special needs, please address these with our nursery coordinator.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

Sunday School classes for all ages meet from 9:00 to 10:00, often with offerings also on Wednesday evenings. Our many education offerings are listed under “Education” (at the left) and in our Christian Education catalogue, which you can find in the Narthex and on the tables in the main hallway. For further questions, please see our Director of Christian Education.

NURSERY

Children 2 years of age and younger are welcome in our Nursery, which is divided between infants and toddlers. The nursery is in the Bullard Building, with Sunday hours beginning at 8:45. We also offer nursery care for our various evening programs.

CHILDREN’S CHURCH

Children's SermonCHILDREN 3 years of age through first grade are welcome at the beginning of worship to hear the children’s sermon and then may proceed with a volunteer to the Bullard Building for Children’s Church. Parents may pick up their child(ren) from the Edington Building following the service.

CHILDREN above first grade are encouraged to fully participate in worship. If a child needs to leave the worship service for any reason, parents may take them to Fellowship Hall where there is a live audio and video feed.
