John Hutchinson, Director of Music and Organist
John Hutchinson is a native of southern New Mexico. His father, Bill, is a retired United Methodist Bishop, and his mother, Kay, holds a master’s degree in vocal pedagogy.
John attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, where he received both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in instrumental performance, with a focus on organ, while also studying voice and choral conducting. He has held Director of Music/Organist positions in New Mexico, Texas, Missouri, Louisiana, and most recently, Georgia, having lived and served in the Atlanta Metro area for the past 22 years.
John has a great love for teaching and his voice students have won first place at the state level of the Georgia High School Literary Competition and have gone on to be accomplished performers, receiving both Tony and Grammy nominations.
John is an avid Theater Organ buff, fine arts organizer/advocate, theater/concert goer, music theater aficionado, and dedicated Trekkie.
