COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING SERVICE

November 22 at 4:00 p.m.
Spring Hill Presbyterian Church

Due to health concerns the annual Community Thanksgiving Service will not occur in the typical pattern. Instead, Spring Hill Presbyterian Church will be hosting an outdoor, socially distance Vespers service with leaders from congregations in Spring Hill participating. All are welcome to join together for this time of unity and gratitude. A collection will be taken to support the shared Wheel-a-Meal program. Bring your own chair or blanket to sit on, and be sure to wear a mask. This service will occur outside in front of our sanctuary to allow everyone to spread out safely. If you are in a “high risk category” we ask you to stay home. Also, if you have tested positive for COVID-19, please wait until you have been symptom free for at least ten days before making plans to attend. We want everyone to stay safe.
The worship service will also be livestreamed online through Zoom. Please us the following link and information to join.

PLEASE TAKE NICK A MEAL!

We have set up a TakeThemAMeal schedule for Nick Vrakelos who is recovering from pancreatic cancer surgery. The schedule will help us, but Nick does not have a cell phone nor a computer so he does not have access to this site. Thus it is IMPORTANT that you PLEASE COMMUNICATE WITH NICK VIA PHONE TO CONFIRM YOUR ACTUAL DELIVERY DATE AND TIME during the week for which you have signed up. Nick is alone and doesn’t eat a lot but would prefer meals on Saturdays and Sundays. Because of this, a variety of foods in smaller portions that could be used throughout the week might be helpful. If you have questions, please call/text Judy Falls, Chair of Congregational Care Committee: 417-437-8144 or email fallsjrf@gmail.com.

ANGEL TREE GIFTS for CHILDREN/YOUTH & SENIOR ADULTS

As an Act of Faith, SHPC is again sponsoring children/youth and senior adults in Mobile who need our love and support during the Christmas season. We will provide gifts for twenty children and twenty seniors who have been identified by Catholic Social Services.
Please sponsor one or more persons by selecting a green angel name card from the Angel Tree in the sanctuary narthex during November. Your recipient’s name and Christmas wish list will be on the green card you take home. Please complete the white matching registry card for your recipient and leave it on the tree.
Select one or more items ($35-40 total) from the gift list you choose and wrap and label them with your recipient’s name and angel #. Gifts need to be delivered to the church Fellowship Hall (Sundays) or church office (weekdays) no later than Sunday, December 6.
If you are unable to select your angel card in person but wish to participate, please contact Vera Lynn Sheets (call/text 251-454-6846; sheetsvl@aol.com).
This is a wonderful opportunity to talk with your family and think about the Christmas story as you select a special gift for someone you don’t even know.
“It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
