Join us this Sunday for worship as we continue our summer series drawn from Ecclesiastes entitled “Seasons Under the Sun” with a message about “a time to keep and a time to throw away.” This Sunday we will also celebrate the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper, so we invite you to prepare bread and juice or wine in order to participate in the holy meal.

Our next Sunday Evening Vespers Service is THIS SUNDAY, August 2, at 7:00 PM. At this service we will celebrate our graduated high school seniors with special family blessings before they move on to the next chapter in their lives. Bring your own chair or blanket to sit on, and be sure to wear a mask. This service will occur outside in front of our sanctuary to allow for safe social distancing. If you are in a “high risk category” we ask you to stay home. Also, if you have tested positive for COVID-19, please wait until you have been symptom free for at least two weeks or have had a negative follow-up test before making plans to attend these services. We want everyone to stay safe.



For Sunday School each week we will hear from exciting voices in our community and our congregation to connect with our summer theme, “Seasons Under the Sun!” These classes will occur using Zoom for as along as we are unable to meet in person. Amy Patterson is a Texas native, happily transplanted to Mobile. She is currently working on her thesis as a graduate student in creative writing at the University of South Alabama. Her favorite activities include writing, reading, birding, traveling, and spending time with her beloved family—Sophia, Leo, and husband Matthew.

Music with English Horn, Flute, Cello, and Organ
The plummy tones of the English horn join with flute, cello, and organ in this week’s music video, recorded in the blooming acoustics of our chapel in the light of late afternoon. The instrumentalists are carefully distanced and wore masks at all times when they weren’t playing into the room that is otherwise empty of people. Auditions are ongoing! Come sing with us! Mobile’s Singing Children is the premier children’s chorus on the Gulf Coast. In our 43 year history, we have performed in Europe, Canada, and many states in the U.S. MSC performs regularly with the Mobile Symphony and the Mobile Opera.
